Permanent Resident Card – renewal
Most PR cards are valid for five years. Permanent residents with their PR card expired must get a renewal. Time spent outside of Canada may be counted towards the physical presence requirement if you are living outside of Canada with a Canadian spouse or common-law partner or permanent resident spouse.
If your PR card has expired and you are unsure whether your PR status is still valid, please contact us for an assessment. We may be able to help you renew your PR card.
